This module teaches the students how to analyse mechanisms and to synthesize them. They learn how to analyse displacement, velocity, acceleration and forces involved in mechanisms. They will also learn the types and functions of various mechanisms, and how to apply the types of mechanisms learnt to solve real-life engineering problems. An introduction on multibody dynamics will also be covered. The students will be taught how to generate and solve the equations of motion of generic multibody systems. This module is intended for graduate students and engineers involved in designing of mechanisms.
