The promise of open source is better build quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to predatory vendor lock-in. With IT departments on tighter budgets, well proven Open source software have gained wider consideration. This course plans to examine key issues and frameworks for software reuse and models for evaluating the adoption of Open source software for the Enterprise. In addition to lectures, the course will also rely on technical case studies to review successful Open source software and their adoption.
