Management of Human Service Organizations

The aim of this module is for students to develop knowledge, values and skills that contribute to the management of a state or a voluntary welfare organization in Singapore. Students will learn to apply organizational theories and theories of management to human service organizations with specific reference to strategic planning, organisational structure and processes, staff management, managing interaction with the environment, management of information and communication, and resource and financial management. Cross country comparisons will enable critical thinking about human service organizations in the local context.
